THE TRAGEDY
MADD Canada is a non-profit grassroots organization with close to 95 chapters across the country. MADD Canada's aim is to offer support services to victims, heighten awareness about the dangers of impaired driving and to save lives and prevent injuries on our roads. Impaired driving is the #1 cause of criminal death. On average, 4 people are killed and 190 are injured daily on Canadian roads. We continue to see the carnage that results from impaired driving. So many people know of someone who has died or suffered serious injury as the result of impaired driving. Some of us have experienced the ultimate loss, the loss of a child as the result of drinking and driving. We are members of a club that no one wants to belong to. MADD Canada has developed many programs of awareness to combat this overwhelming task of eliminating impaired driving. Many of these programs target youth, who appear to be getting the message. However, we must keep moving forward in these initiatives. All of the good work of MADD Canada requires funding. By supporting the Nev Foundation you are helping us support this organization.
